Reading recommendations: books that inspire Daniil Dyachenko
From classics of Russian literature to unique historical theories, these books open up new horizons and make you think about important aspects of human existence
1. "A Hero of Our Time" by M. Yu. Lermontov
It is not for nothing that Pechorin is called a hero of any time. This book is fascinating and makes you return to it again and again - I have already reread it eight times. Lermontov shows the vices of society incredibly accurately, and the image of Pechorin attracts with its versatility. He is complex, contradictory, but this is precisely his strength: in every time and society there is a place for such heroes, whose personal struggle reflects more global problems.
2. “Ethnogenesis and biosphere of the Earth”, L. N. Gumilyov
Gumilyov's theory of passionarity is interesting because it is unique and allows us to look at history from a completely new angle. The book shows how passionate ethnic groups developed and how their energy influenced the course of history.
3. "Dune" by Frank Herbert
I am a big fan of the Dune universe. This book captivated me not only with its deep meaning, but also with the incredible development of the lore. Herbert created a whole world that you immerse yourself in. Reading Dune is a real vacation, an opportunity to break away from reality for a while and immerse yourself in a fascinating story.
4. "We", E. I. Zamyatin
The book attracted me with its mathematically precise style. I have always been interested in what a world completely subordinated to logic, without emotions and feelings, would look like. Zamyatin became the "father" of dystopias, and his view of the future remains relevant to this day. "We" is not just a book, it is a philosophical riddle
5. Textbook of Russian history
Here I can recommend the works of Orlov and Georgieva, Yakemenko, and for those who are "in the know" - Medinsky. History is the key to understanding your country and its place in the world. No wonder they say: "Ivan, who does not remember kinship". The basis of knowledge about the past helps to understand the integrity of the historical and political processes of our Motherland. Of course, physics textbooks are also necessary and important, but let's leave their recommendation to physicists, and basic knowledge of history is necessary for everyone.
